Wood
Grain Specialties is a relatively new company in the
Cedar Valley. We opened our doors at 1916 State Street
in Cedar Falls in July, 2003. Until that time, the
company had existed as only a dream for owner, George
Lansink. His dream had always been to have a woodworking
shop. His dream took on new dimensions as he became
more frustrated with the lack of quality in many cabinetry
products on the market. His solution to that frustration
was to follow through with his dream and open a shop
built on quality and craftsmanship.
Wood Grain Specialties is a custom cabinet shop.
Each piece produced is unique to the client’s
needs. Our products are custom made by experienced
craftsmen who create not just something useful, but
works of art.
Our specialties include kitchen cabinetry, entertainment
centers, fireplace mantels and surrounds, and furniture
pieces. The company’s motto “Old World
Craftsmanship, Modern Design” best describes
Wood Grain Specialties’ uniqueness and abilities.
The Wood Grain Specialties staff includes five carpenters
with over 95 years of combined experience, along
with a designer/draftsperson. Our goal at Wood Grain
Specialties is to provide a pleasurable experience
for the client from the initial consultation with
our designer through the completion of their project.
